My third teaching class/ 2nd Period, 2nd
term 2014

Jose Daniel Medina Aguirre
This is my third class in the second period. I felt
satisfied that although it was hard for me I believe that I did my best. I started
with a warm up, the broken telephone. I made a semicircle with the desks and
asked the students to sit down on them. I whispered a sentence to the student
in one end, and he had to pass it on to the rest. I whispered two sentences,
and the student in the other end had to write the sentences in the board. They
spent over four minutes doing this.
After that activity, I started the topic that was the
pronouns even when I was going to explain the indefinite pronouns. I started by giving a definition of pronouns,
and I gave a couple of examples. Afterwards, I explained to the students that
there are several kinds of pronouns, and I showed to them a chart that I did
with some categories of pronouns. In the chart, there were subject pronoun,
object pronoun, possessive pronoun, and reflexive pronoun. I explained to the
students every category, and I gave examples, as well. I took about 15 minutes
to explain the chart.
Then, I pass to explain the indefinite pronouns category.
I also gave the meaning, some examples and, then they practiced. I explained to
the students what indefinite pronouns to use for affirmative statements, for
negative statement and for questions.
Finally, the students were going to make a mini-presentation.
I asked them to make three groups, and I gave a piece of paper. They were going
to present and explain what indefinite pronoun in each statement whether affirmative,
negative or questions. I assign one statement to each group, and they had to
give some examples. I think they did it well, and in this way, I finished my
class listening to the students explaining what they had learned.
Well, Dany i could say that you are doing a good job, and you are doing your best as you said and most of us are very happy of doing this because we are getting more and more experience. i think that teaching pronouns is not too easy but using the chart is a very nice way of doing it althought i think that you must explain one by one for example subject pronoun first, and then come up with with some excercises. Then, you should come up with the object pronoun give some practicess as well, and then, the other funtions but not all at the same time because i could notice that in some moments they got confused and did not know what to write in the practice that you give them at the end.
ResponderEliminarAnother thing is that you came up so hurry with the presenattion and you should have given another activity for they to practice in another way.
It was good to give them meanings of the pronouns. Nice job Dany congratulacions. Just continue with the same enthusim.
