Well the following the activities are the ones I developed for my last class. To start, I began with a warm up that was about to complete a chart. The students had to remember the past class and write in each section the pertinent information. They lasted more than five minutes; even so, they did not remember the information as I expected they would do it. Anyways, I refreshed their mind with some examples written on the board.

The topic for this class was “indefinite pronouns: someone, anyone and no one”.  I used an empty chart with three sections such affirmative, negative and question. I went step by step remembering the students the way to use those pronouns and giving also example after every section. After some minutes of refreshment, I handed them out a piece of paper with a fill in the blank for they to use the correct pronouns. Some of the students are amazing when working in these activities because they finish very fast, but some other don’t.

Afterwards, I carries out another activity called find someone who. The students were given a worksheet missing some information, which the students had to complete by walking and asking around for the information required.

To finish my class, the students were going to have discussion. I prepared a problem, and they had to give their opinions. One group would be in favor and the other against. Because of the time, just few opinions were given, and the class was done.

SECOND CLASS III PERIOD II TERM

Second Practice, III period, II term

Well, this class began at three thirty pm., and it was going to be the introduction of a new unit.  The first thing I did was a game called “guess what the word is”. First, I put two desks in front of the class. Then, I asked to them for two volunteer who were going to be seated in front of the class. The rest of the students were going to mimic and do gestures to name the word but not to speak, and the two students were going to guess what the word was. This game was very interesting, and the students got much fun.

Second, I wrote the phrase “personal care” on the board, and I started to ask to the students what came to their minds when they hear the phrase. They gave their answers and from those ideas I got to the main topic.
Third, I presented a list of personal item, because the topic was personal care and appearance, and I asked them to repeat. As they did not know those words, I continued with the next activity, which was called “Guess what is in my bag”. I asked them to make a circle, and in a bag I had a set of the same pictures from the list. So, I asked them to guess what I had in the bag, and they said for example: you have a comb, later, I got a pictures and if was not the one they mentioned, I said: no, this is deodorant or the one I got, and I also asked to them what do we use the deodorant for? And so on, until the last picture.

To finish the class, I presented to them a conversation. They had to follow the pattern and create a conversation similar to the one I took. Even they could change the item and put their own. They had to write it first, then to practice, and later to perform it. Because of the time, I demanded just three participation. In addition, to do it democratically, I took a medium dice, which I throw to the ground and the number that it got that was going to be number of pairs that were going to participate. They did it nicely and it was a great class for me.

Well for this class, I was a little sick of my throat, and it was difficult to speak aloud.  I started by greeting the students. To know the students’ name, I made a review of the past topic, which was past continuous (in its affirmative form). I asked the students to make a circle and to pay attention to what I was going to do, and I gave an example of it. I said my name and what I was doing yesterday at 5 pm like this: hi, my name is Daniel, and yesterday at five pm, I was watching TV. Therefore, they had to do the same. They had say their names, and answer the question that I asked them which was what were you doing yesterday at 5 pm?
Something I really appreciate is that those students are smart, and they did it well.
Then I explained to them the way to make negative and interrogative form by using a chart in blank to be filled during the explanation. It was interesting because they focus precisely in the explanation.
Then, I asked them to work on a work sheet, which contained seven exercises with seven to eight item each. I demanded to finish section by section. Some of the students did a great job and almost did all the exercises at once. That was ok for me even though they had to wait for the rest to finish. My class finished by checking all the exercises in the work sheet.
